Dear Colonel Douglas Dawson
I must write you a line to thank you for your kind letter with congratulations.
I trust that I have done the right thing in accepting this new position but it is very difficult especially in the beginning as I do not know any body and can not at once think and feal or know what the people here want.
I do hope we may stil be able to spend some time, cause if we can not manage as before in England it would be to hard if I had to give that up too. I have had to give up so much personal liberty as it is so I think that is enough.
Thanking you once more.
I remain yours sincerely
Haakon
better known as Charles
